Mechanical weighing Scale

The goal of this project was to create an innovative kitchen scale capable of effortlessly weighing food up to 3 kg, with an accuracy of 20 grams. It should consist of a weighing mechanism and a display mechanism allowing an adjustable tare.
The particularity of this weighing scale is that it must be mechanical. Unlike an electronic scale, this one will not be dependent on electrical energy.
For the customer who wishes to acquire a mechanical scale, the design must be in adequacy with a domestic use. 
The key functions of use are the practicality of the scale as well as its ergonomics, also, the weigh must be easily read. Storage, cleaning and recycling are also to be considered.
Technical constraints are also necessary for the success of this project, the mechanism must be mechanical as well as robust.
We wanted to design a scale with a specific design as well as an innovative weighing method where the mechanism and appearance will take up a large part of the available space of 30x30x20cm.
